Here's a poll former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum may like: A Quinnipiac University Poll released this morning shows him holding a 6-point lead over former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney with three weeks to go until the April 24 republican presidential primary election in Pennsylvania.
The poll of 647 likely GOP primary voters shows Santorum at 41 percent to Romney's 35 percent. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas is at 10 percent while former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich is at 7 percent. More than a third of those polled, 37 percent, said they could change their mind about the candidates before the primary.
The poll finds Santorum doing well with men, evangelical Christians and Tea Party members while Romney does better will moderate Republicans. You can read the results here.
A Franklin & Marshall College Poll released last week showed Santorum holding just a 2 percent lead on Romney, prompting the former Senator to complain inaccurately on national television Sunday about that poll's accuracy.
