Gunfire left a 19-year-old man in critical condition in a Southwest Philadelphia neighborhood Monday night, police said.

The victim was at Greenway Avenue and Conestoga Street in Kingsessing shortly after 7 p.m. when someone opened fire on him, wounding him twice in the back and once in the right thigh, according to police.

Medics took the man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he remained in critical condition around 9 p.m.

Police said they did not make any arrests in connection with the shooting around 9 p.m., and the circumstances surrounding it remained under investigation.
