The afterbirth was discovered at about 6:30 a.m., police spokeswoman Officer Tanya Little said, but no details beyond that were immediately available.

It was found in an area behind the McDonald's restaurant on the southeast corner of the intersection of 10th and Market streets in Center City, Little said.
