N.J. schools lockdown over; man in custody


Schools in Point Pleasant were briefly on lockdown this morning as police searched for an armed suicidal man.

Point Pleasant police said all schools in Point Pleasant Borough were locked down until the man was apprehended.

Officials received a report of an armed man near a school shortly before 10 a.m.; police said the man, who was not identified, was in custody by 10:45 a.m.

Police said students were not in eminent danger during the incident. The lockdown was put in place as a precautionary measure, authorities said.
