Multi-vehicle crash causes heavy traffic backup on Interstate 95 near PHL Airport

A crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Philadelphia International Airport has caused lane closures and heavy traffic on the highway, state police said.

The multi-vehicle accident happened sometime shortly before 4 p.m. and troopers remained at the scene as of 4:15 p.m., a trooper with state police Troop K in Philadelphia said.

No details about injuries or the exact number of vehicles involved was immediately known, the trooper said.

At least the right lane of the southbound lanes remained closed.
