K9 finds cocaine hidden in prosthetic leg

A Delaware man was arrested Monday after a K9 discovered more than an ounce of cocaine hidden inside a prosthetic leg.

Marlow Holmes, 39, of Dover, was a passenger in a Chevy Tahoe about 2:30 p.m. when police stopped the SUV on McKee Road in Dover, said department spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.

It was unclear how the K9 became involved, but the dog indicated to Dover Police that there were hidden narcotics in the vehicle. A brief search turned up 28.7 grams secreted in Holmes' leg, Hoffman said.

Holmes, who was being held today on $81,000 bail, was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and other drug counts.
