Fire intentionally set at N.J. fire station, officials say

A fire that broke out at a fire station in Egg Harbor Township on Monday was intentionally set, according to investigators, but the arsonist remains on the loose.

The fire trucks were not damaged by the blaze at Cardiff Voluntary Fire Company Station 1 on Black Horse Pike, township police said, who added that a possible suspect was seen running away from the fire station shortly before the fire was reported at 7:13 p.m.

He is described as a white or Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s, five feet 10 inches tall with a heavy build, last seen wearing a red shirt and red shorts on a bike.

A second suspicious fire was reported about three hours later in the Bargaintown section of Egg Harbo at a residence on Old Zion Road, police said. A boat on a trailer next to the property's garage was set on fire, officials said.
