Feds: Parking lot attendant stole $225,000 from Eagles' Todd Herremans

A parking lot attendant who watched over cars belonging to the Philadelphia Eagles as they played was accused Wednesday morning of stealing more than $225,000 from one of the player's bank accounts.

Robert Von Ryan, 37, of Philadelphia, was charged with bank fraud. According to federal prosecutors, Von Ryan entered the vehicle of an Eagle identified as "T.H." From the car, he took documents that contained the player's checking account number.

A spokesman for the Eagles confirmed that the victim was offensive lineman Todd Herremans and the lot was at the team's hotel in Philadelphia. The attendant, the spokesman said, was a subcontractor and not employed by the team.

The Daily News reported Thursday that the attendant's employer was Staff One, a private firm whose duties included guarding players' cars at both home and away games. Herremans told the Daily News that he learned of what happened when asked by an advisor about credit cards that he never actually owned.

Using the number, Von Ryan transfered $225,034.52 from Herremans' UBS checking account to his own, U.S. Attorney Zane David Memeger said. The transfers occured between 2009 and 2012.

If convicted, Von Ryan faces a possible sentence of up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
