Elderly couple seriously hurt in Philly blaze
A man and woman, both in their 80s, were hospitalized overnight after a fire swept through the back of their twin home in Philadelphia's Burlhome section, according to fire dispatch.
The fire broke out in the two-story brick structure sometime around 2:30 a.m. on the 7000 block of Montour Street. Initial reports said an elderly couple was trapped inside.
They couple was freed, but rushed to a local hospital. They were transferred to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, according to a fire official.
The fire was placed under control about an hour after it started.
