Homicide charges in N.E. Philly crash that killed 2

A 33-year-old Philadelphia man has been charged with homicide while driving under the influence for a fatal collision early Tuesday morning that killed two men.

The District Attorney's Office has charged 33-year-old Robert Brenzenger with two counts of homicide and DUI, among other charges, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Authorities say Brenzenger, who lives in Mayfair, ran a red light at Bustleton Ave. and St. Vincent St. about 12:20 a.m. with his GMC Yukon SUV.  The Yukon rammed a Honda Accord being driven by Lian Pan, 35, and Zhuoru Chan, 58.

The impact forced the Accord into an opposing lane where it was struck head-on by a Jeep Cherokee.

Police say Brenzenger was impaired at the crash site, and that they found pills and a syringe in his truck. He was not injured.

A preliminary court hearing for Brenzenger is scheduled for Nov. 28.
