Cops arrest suspect in SEPTA bus stabbing

Authorities say a suspect has been arrested in an August stabbing on a SEPTA bus that left a man needing hundreds of stitches in his face.

Albert Booth, 22, is charged with aggravated assault and other offenses in the Aug. 18 Kingsessing attack, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors allege that Booth got into a verbal fight with another man while riding the 52 bus near South 54th Street and Florence Avenue shortly before 12:30 a.m. The 24-year-old man tried to ignore Booth, who then allegedly took out a knife and slashed the man's face.

The man was cut from his ear to his mouth and required hundreds of stitches, prosecutors said.

Booth, of the 5000 block of Catherine Street, was taken into custody Tuesday evening and is slated to be arraigned today.
