Cops: Man, woman steal $12,000 in South Philly home invasion

A man and woman are on the loose after allegedly stealing $12,000 during a home invasion Tuesday night in South Philadelphia.

A man and woman are on the loose after allegedly stealing $12,000 during a home invasion Tuesday night in South Philadelphia.

The incident happened on Jessup Street near Porter about 9:15 p.m. The 55-year-old male victim told police he opened the door and was punched in the face by a male wearing a mask. The male suspect, who was armed with a gun, then entered the home with a woman and tied the victim up. The victim was eventually able to get free and call police, but not before the thugs stole $12,000 and an iPhone, police said.

The victim suffered a split lip. South Detectives is investigating.
