A 45-year-old city man faces assault, robbery and other charges after police say he beat, threatened and robbed an 81-year-old Temple University professor as he was working in his office earlier this week.

Darryl Moon is also charged with criminal trespass and terroristic threats. He was charged overnight and bail was set at $500,000.  He's scheduled for a hearing Nov. 15.

Moon, who has a long criminal history, was identified in surveillance video coming through the doors of Anderson Hall on Temple's main campus Monday morning.  They say Moon not only punched the professor in the head, but held a knife to his throat before robbing him.

Moon was arrested yesterday morning at 16th Street and Allegheny Avenue.

The professor suffered facial cuts and swelling, as well as minor bleeding in his brain from the attack. He was taken to the hospital and is now in good condition.
