Construction worker falls 35 feet at Navy Yard work site


A construction worker fell 35 feet from a crane at a work site in South Philadelphia this morning, but was reported by the city fire department as stable at a city hospital.

His injuries from the fall at 4921 S. 16th St. in the Navy Yard complex were not specified by a fire department spokesman. The worker fell a few minutes before 11 a.m. and was first reported to be trapped under an aerial lift. It was determined he fell from a crane, the fire official said.

No further information about the industrial accident was immediately available.
