Commuter alert: New Jersey Turnpike southbound crash in West Deptford

A crash involving a dump trunk and tractor trailer, which ended up jacknifed, shut the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in Gloucester County early this morning for hourse, leaving traffic backed up for miles.

The crash occurred around shortly before 4 a.m. southbound jus, north of Exit 2, at Route 322 in West Deptford Township, according to the New Jersey Turnpike website. 

All lanes were blocked with motorists being forced to get off at Exit 4. That caused further back ups on area roads.

New Jersey State Police said that all lanes were reopened as of about 8:50 a.m.
