Another rough commute on PATCO

A disabled train disrupted rush hour service this morning on the PATCO High Speed Line.

PATCO has not yet provided information about the nature of the problem except to say that it was "mechanical."

The westbound train became disabled west of the Ferry Avenue station around 7:15 a.m.

Some riders reported it took them more than an hour to make what is usually a 17-minute trip from Westmont to 8th and Market Streets. One woman tweeted that she got on a train in Lindenwald at 7:10 a.m. and did not cross the Ben Franklin Bridge until 8:45 a.m.

PATCO said there were residual delays both eastbound and westbound throughout the morning after the disabled train was taken out of service.
