Crews have finished cleaning up debris from a tractor-trailer accident near the Benjamin Franklin Bridge that constricted several on-ramps Wednesday afternoon, snarling traffic in the area.

All approach lanes to the bridge are now open, the Delaware River Port Authority said in an alert issued around 6 p.m.

Three bridge lanes to New Jersey are open, but drivers are still being cautioned to expect delays.

New Jersey Transit buses traveling to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal are also operating on delays of up to 45 minutes due to the congestion.

ORIGINAL STORY: An accident Wednesday afternoon has partially closed the Sixth Street on-ramp to the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, causing traffic headaches for drivers heading into New Jersey.

Two bridge lanes to New Jersey and three lanes to Pennsylvania remain open, the Delaware River Port Authority said in a traffic alert issued around 2:30 p.m.

Those traveling to New Jersey should expect delays, the DRPA said.
