Police: 'Menace to society' sought in 3 slayings

Police asked for the public's help today in finding a 20-year-old man suspected of killing at least three people and wounding four others in a series of shootings.

Police Capt. James Clark said Darryl Young, who goes by the nickname "D-Nice," is "really a menace to society that we have to get off the street."

Investigators believe Smith is responsible for the Sept. 24 shooting in West Philadelphia that left Kevin Hubbard, 19, dead, and a second person wounded.

Police also said he opened fire on a group of three men on Oct. 26, wounding all of them.

In addition, Young is a suspect in two other recent homicides, said Clark, commander of the Homicide Unit. All shootings are believed to be drug related.

Young is described as black, about 5-feet- 6, 160 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He has a tattoo reading "RIP Fatz" on his right arm. He is known to frequent the area of 56th Street and Lansdowne Avenue. He should be considered armed and "extremely dangerous," Clark said.

The fugitive task force is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to Young's capture. Anyone with information can call 215-863-2732 or homicide at 215-686-3334.
