Philadelphia police Sunday are investigating reports of two unrelated rapes, one from last night and one from early this morning.
A 14-year-old girl reported that she was grabbed by three males about 8:20 p.m. on her way home from shopping at Olney Plaza, said Lt. Al Rossi of the special victims unit.
The males abducted her near the R-8 rail line at Mascher and Tabor streets, took her to a wooded area and at gun point, sexually assaulted her, the girl told police.
They then fled. One male is described as having worn a blue and green polo shirt and blue jeans. There was no description on the other two.
This morning's attack occurred after 6 a.m. in the Northeast area, Rossi said.
A female, age unknown, said she was coming home from a party and someone offered her a ride. She was sexually assaulted in the driver's car, and then he took off, the woman told police.
The suspect later got in a car accident in the area and fled the scene, police said.
The investigations are continuing. The reported rapes are not believed to be related, Rossi said.
