Phils catching 3:30 train

Fans at 30th Street Station waved signs reading "Beat NY" and "Do It For Harry" as the Phillies once again took Amtrak to the Big Apple to continue their World Series battle with the Yankees.

The train was scheduled to leave about 3:30 and arrive in New York a little more than an hour later.

The only Phillies to show up Tuesday at Yankee Stadium, though, were manager Charlies Manuel and Game 6 starting pitcher Pedro Martinez.

The Phillies won Game 5 Monday night, but the Yankees lead the series, 3 games to 2.

No official sendoff was planned this time, but on Oct. 27, an outdoor rally was held on the 29th Street side of the station as the team departed for the next night's Game 1 in New York.

No sendoff. That's like celebrating the win last night. Only means something if you win it all.

Is Cholly Manuel riding up in the cattle car? I think the hillbilly would feel more at home there than sitting between his two spoiled brat pitchers.

I think the only rednecks are those that keep calling him "Cholly."

johnnydomino is a dope. How quickly we forget that those two players were instrumental in bringing this city its first championship in over two decades.

They need to jump all over Pettitte early and often......hopefully the old man won't be too sharp on 3 days rest.

Philiies just arrived in NYC. In an attempt to bury the hatchet, old Cholly is taking Bad Boy Bret and the girly-man to Old Country Buffet for dinner. Cholly loves the way they serve cornpone and hawg jowls. MMMMMMM doggies!
