Police are investigating a pair of double shootings in North Philadelphia and Hunting Park Monday night that left one man dead and three others injured.

In the first, a 33-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were on Germantown Avenue near Lehigh shortly after 5 p.m. when someone shot both of them, police said. The younger man was shot in the left leg and taken to Temple University Hospital in a private car. He is listed in stable condition. The second victim suffered two gunshot wounds to his groin and three to his legs, police said. He was taken to Temple by officers and listed in guarded condition.

A little more than an hour later, around 6:30 p.m., two more men were shot on Percy Street near Pike in Hunting Park, police said. Both were wounded in the torso by a gunman armed with a shotgun, police said, and drove themselves to Temple University Hospital. One victim, a 20-year-old man, was pronounced dead there at 6:49 p.m. The second victim, a 23-year-old man, remains critical at Temple.

Police said they recovered a shotgun believed to have been used in the shooting behind a house on Percy Street, and that they believe the shooter may be inside the house where the gun was found. They declared a barricade there shortly before 7 p.m. and are still at the scene.
