A Pemberton Township teenager has been charged with aggravated manslaughter for fatally shooting another 18-year-old township resident, Davon Coleman, on Thursday, prosecutors said.

Nelven Salas, 18, who was also charged with possession of a handgun without a permit and hindering apprehension, allegedly shot Coleman around 1 a.m. in a detached garage in the 300 block of Bayberry Street, where Salas and Coleman were at an acquaintance's house. That individual also was present during the incident, prosecutors said.

Salas initially told police three masked intruders had shot Coleman and fled, authorities said. Salas was taken to the Burlington County Jail on $250,000 bail.
