Tree trimmer killed in Bucks

Police in Bucks County are investigating the death of a tree trimmer who was ejected accidentally from the bucket of a boom truck in Northampton Township.

The incident occurred on Andrea Drive in the Holland section of the township about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The man, whose name was not released pending notification of family, worked for the Ivyland-based Rick's Tree Service, police said.

A portion of the tree the man was removing was tied to the boom, police said. The weight of the tree material pulled the truck onto its side, throwing the man from the bucket.

Rescue crews attempted CPR before the man was pronounced dead at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration also was investigating, police said.
