The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of South 53rd Street.
Police transported the victim to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:53 p.m. The police spokeswoman said no weapon was found at the scene and no arrests had been made by late Saturday evening. - Inquirer staff
