Frat's national office accepts penalty

The national office of Kappa Delta Rho, the Pennsylvania State University fraternity that was suspended for three years after it became known that some of its members had posted nude photos of unsuspecting women on a restricted Facebook page, had no harsh words for the punishment handed down.

The national office of Kappa Delta Rho, the Pennsylvania State University fraternity that was suspended for three years after it became known that some of its members had posted nude photos of unsuspecting women on a restricted Facebook page, had no harsh words for the punishment handed down.

"We respect the university's decision and look forward to working with the university to effectuate improvements in the Greek system on campus," Joseph Rosenberg, national executive director of Kappa Delta Rho, said in a statement Wednesday. The fraternity will try to regain chapter recognition once the three-year period expires, he added.

Penn State announced Tuesday it was shutting the frat after an investigation showed evidence that some of its members engaged in hazing, drug use, underage drinking, and sexual harassment.

The shutdown means the fraternity cannot participate in activities as a group, such as intramural activities or homecoming, mix with other fraternities as a group, or wear their Greek letters, said L. Reidar Jensen, a university spokesman.
