Small fire forces evacuation at King of Prussia mall

On Tuesday, for the second time in less than a week, part of the King of Prussia mall was evacuated due to a small fire.

On Tuesday, for the second time in less than a week, part of the King of Prussia mall was evacuated due to a small fire.

Les Morris, a spokesman for Simon Property Group, said welders set some insulation on fire around 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Bonefish Grill. The restaurant is under construction and wasn't occupied at the time, he said.

Seven stores were evacuated for about an hour while Upper Merion firefighters handled the incident.

On Thursday, another part of the mall near the food court was evacuated briefly due to a small fire at a kiosk, Morris said.

An Upper Merion police dispatcher said Tuesday's incident was no big deal. "There was just a fire, and it's out," she said.
