Two dead in separate Philadelphia shootings

Police are investigating weekend shootings in North Philadelphia that left two men dead, including a 16-year-old. Police responded shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday to a call about a disturbance at a large gathering near the 700 block of Montgomery Avenue. While police were dispersing the crowd, shots rang out. A 16-year-old male who had been shot in the back of the head was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:23 p.m..

Police responded shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday to a call about a disturbance at a large gathering near the 700 block of Montgomery Avenue. While police were dispersing the crowd, shots rang out. A 16-year-old male who had been shot in the back of the head was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:23 p.m..

The second deadly incident occurred at the Galaxy Lounge at 3348 Germantown Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. When police arrived, a 24-year-old man who had been shot multiple times was being carried out of the bar. He was taken to Temple and pronounced dead at 1:51 a.m.

A police spokeswoman said the identities of the victims were being withheld, and there had not yet been any arrests.
