Boy, 11, shot in North Phila.

PHILADELPHIA An 11-year-old boy was shot in the back in North Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

The shooting occurred around 3:50 p.m. in the 1500 block of Gratz Street, near Temple University, when someone opened fire from a vehicle, police said.

At least one bullet struck the boy, who was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

Police were looking for a blue Mercury Grand Marquis from which they say the shooter fired.

The shooting was the second involving an 11-year-old over the weekend.

On Saturday in West Philadelphia, Jamara Stevens was killed when a 2-year-old sibling found a gun and accidentally fired it. Police have not filed criminal charges in that shooting.
