Passenger dies in high speed crash in Montco

A Lansdale man was killed and another was injured in a high-speed crash overnight in Montgomery County, police said Tuesday.

A Lansdale man was killed and another was injured in a high-speed crash overnight in Montgomery County, police said Tuesday.

Sean Christopher Sperl, 21, was driving a 2000 Honda Civic at a high speed on Route 563 at Sugar Hill Road in Salford Township just after midnight, when he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control and struck a utility pole, according to police.

His passenger, Ryan Alexander Petrille, 21, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The car was torn in two pieces, according to police.

No word yet on Sperl's condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
