Sex-abuse trial begins for priest, former teacher
Posted on Mon, Jan 14, 2013
The trial of a priest and a former teacher charged with sexually assaulting a 10-year-old altar boy at a Northeast Philadelphia parish opened Monday with prosecutors portraying the men as predators who turned a happy-go-lucky honors student into a despondent teenager who was expelled from school, attempted suicide, and turned to drugs.

Mr. McGovern if this your attempt to raise reasonable doubt then it falls well short of the goal. The first Philadelphia GJ named 63 priests, the whereabouts of these predators are unknown thanks to the catholic conference of bishops and PA legislators who continue to stall legislation that will eliminate the SOL and open a window for Victims who choose to come forward. I look forward to evidence being introduced that will decide the fate of sherro and englehart , hopefully the prosecution will bring in avery to testify !

"Presumption of guilt" What else should the public think when it has been proven numerous times how the catholic church will try and hide things. This is only the fault of the caholic church and nobody else.

Wait until the trial is over. Hopefully justice will be done. Not everyone has been found guilty.

Innocent until proven guilty ... It is very strange that the plaintiff alleges that two priests and one teacher sexually abused him in one year. Also curious is that these two defendants, unlike Avery, have no other accusers over their many years. Like I said ... Guilt must be proven and the Catholic Church debacle is not relevant here

Stay strong Billy Doe, you know the truth and you have thousands of victims and supporters who are with you in spirit.

Sadly the Philly Archdiocese is not unique in how the church officials handle sex crimes against innocent kids. Many other diocese need to be investigated by law enforcement for covering up sex crimes against innocent kids.
Victims are still being ignored by the bishops, and our children are still not safe today. The full truth needs to be exposed, and those who sexually abuse children plus those who cover up these crimes, need to be held accountable.

And why was the prosecutor side the headline and not the remarks of the defense attorney? Yellow journalism, to my mind. SNAP Judy give it a rest. Your organization is a fraud and has been exposed as the front for trial lawyers that it is.
