At a first glance, there's something very eye catching about the four blocks of Germantown Avenue. Walking along the North Philadelphia corridor, visitors can't help but feel like Dorothy when she first stepped foot into the technicolor world of Oz.

$350,000 for elitist goons to mug in front of cameras. joedog
so great and about time; similar ideas for many other blocks of houses, retail and rowhouses have been around for 40 years to my knowledge and to any architect in town; classically the key was the money to actually do it. Finding the money was probably the biggest accomplishment.
The design is very well done and ought to be complimented with high praise but without the large amount of money the idea would have percolated for another decade. Congratulations Haas and Hahn and Jane Golden, who knows good from the bad. GAC
Great job Jane! Keep it up! girlgirl

The continuing demise of a once-proud city. Sad. Falls Ed
Leave it to Ms. Golden to come up with an idea like this. She is now travelling to places like RIO. Pretty soon, her and Nutter will be painting the Chinese flag all over town. Hey Jane, stop crying the poor sick mouth and get a real job. TheShadowKnows
