The unidentified 32-year-old Hispanic man was approached on a highway by six men with masks, guns, said Officer Tanya Little, a spokesperson for the Philadelphia Police Department.

Bound and taken to an unknown location, the man was burned with a blowtorch and assaulted with a gun.

He remains in stable condition in Aria Frankford Hospital.

The six men then drove the victim to his home at the 5200 block of Castor Ave in the Northwood section of Frankford, where they duct-taped his wife and took money and a safe, according to preliminary police information.

The masked men fled after leaving the man on a highway.
