One dead after van plunges in Schuylkill

A body was recovered Sunday after a van plunged into the Schuylkill River in Lower Merion Township, according to an emergency dispatcher.

Authorities received a call around 7:05 a.m. about the incident in the Flat Rock Dam area of Gladwyne.

The vehicle has been pulled from the water, officials said.

A firefighter reportedly was taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

No other details were available.
