Montco man dies of heat stroke

The hottest day of the year claimed a life Tuesday afternoon.An 87-year-old Roslyn man died of heat stroke while working in his yard, according to Montgomery County Coroner Walter I. Hofman. The man’s body temperature reached 102.9 degrees, he said.

Heart disease and diabetes were contributing factors.

The temperature officially reached 92 degrees in Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon, topping Monday's high of 91, the only other day to hit 90 this year.
