Chesco car-truck crash claims two brothers

Two Lancaster County brothers died late Saturday when their car collided with a tractor-trailer rig in Lower Oxford Township, Chester County, state police said.

Two Lancaster County brothers died late Saturday when their car collided with a tractor-trailer rig in Lower Oxford Township, Chester County, state police said.

Brett Pierson, 21, was driving a Mercury Cougar on Street Road about 11:45 p.m. and ran the stop sign at the intersection with Route 472, moving directly into the path of the semi. The truck slammed into the Cougar, killing Pierson and his brother, Jeffrey, 24. Neither was wearing a seat belt, police said.

The driver of the semi, Paul Nickle Jr., 42, of Rising Sun, Md., was injured when his truck swerved off the road and flipped in the accident. He was treated and released from Jennersville Hospital.
