Man found shot dead on stoop in Tioga

A 28-year-old man who had been shot in the back was found dead this morning on the stoop of a house in Philadelphia's Tioga section, police said.

Investigators said it appeared the victim, whose name has not been released, was shot a block or two away and made his way to the house on the 2300 block of West Venango Street before collapsing, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:25 a.m.

Police are trying to sort out the circumstances surrounding the slaying.
