Child, 5, hit by car in Burlco

A 5-year-old child was struck by a car and severely injured Friday evening in Burlington County, state police said.

The accident occurred about 6:15 p.m. in the 600 block of Davenport Road in Hainesport, state police said. The child was transported by medevac to Cooper University Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle did not leave the scene, state police said. The accident is under investigation. No further information on the child was available.
