Biden to speak in Bucks on rising college costs

Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Central Bucks High School West on Friday to speak about the rising cost of college.

Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Central Bucks High School West on Friday to speak about the rising cost of college.

The White House says Biden will visit the school in Doylestown, Bucks County, to outline steps the Obama administration has taken to address "college affordability."

Biden is expected to urge colleges and universities to contain costs during his talk, which is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

White House figures say tuition and fees at four-year colleges have tripled over the past two decades, and most students have to take out loans to pay for school.

The average debt is $28,000, according to the figures.

Biden will appear with Deputy Secretary of Education Tony Miller.
