Police: Chesco flasher targeted holiday shoppers

Some shoppers in Exton were exposed to more than bargains on Black Friday, police said this morning.

After receiving multiple complaints, West Whiteland Township police arrested and charged Byron Griffy, 32, of Coatesville, with two counts each of indecent exposure, open lewdness and disorderly conduct.

Police said the incidents began at 11:54 a.m. Friday when a shopper reported a man had exposed himself in the parking lot of the Kohl's Store in the Whiteland Towne Center. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspect, police said.

At 12:38 p.m., another call came in with the same physical description, but this incident was reported near the Old Navy Store in the nearby Main Street Shopping Center. Again, the man was gone when police arrived.

A third call was made at 2:04 p.m., and responding officers apprehended Griffy at the Kohl's store. Police said Griffy admitted to exposing himself in the two incidents near the Kohl's Store, but there was not enough evidence to prosecute him for the Old Navy incident.

Police said Griffy was booked and released to await a summons from the Exton district court.
