A Temple University student was robbed by a gun-wielding man early this morning near the center of campus, according to police.

Police at Temple say that the student was on the 1200 block of Polett Walk, near the Bell Tower, when approached by the man about 1:30 a.m.

The suspect was described as a black male, about 6-foot-tall and in his late 20s or 30s. He was wearing dark clothing with a gray hood underneath and armed with a black handgun.

The police were warning students and others at Temple to always walk with another person or a group especially during late hours, or in isolated parts of campus.

The campus also offers dawn-to-dusk transportation, such as Owloop and TUr Door services for those living just off the campus.

Temple Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crime to call 215-204-1234.
