A year after 29-year Liliana Acevedo was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Juniata Park, police, acting on a tip, have arrested a woman in her death.

Charged is Sylvia Lugo, 38, of the 3700 block of North Marshall Street, just blocks from where Acevedo was killed at West Erie Avenue and Third Street.

Acevedo was getting something out of the back seat of her parked car when she was hit just before 11 p.m. on May 1, 2010.

A $15,000 reward was posted in June last year for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in Acevedo's death.

Acting on a tip, police said they arrested Lugo on Tuesday evening and charged her with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence and related offences.
