Man, 40, shot to death in West Philadelphia

A 40-year-old man was shot and killed early Wednesday night in West Philadelphia.

The man, whose name was not immediately made available by police, was shot at least once in the chest at 51st and Race Streets about 8:15 p.m.

The victim was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and pronounced dead at 8:38 p.m.
