Police ID man slain in W. Phila.

Police have identified a man gunned down last night on the 5100 block of Irving Street in West Philadelphia.

Leon McMillan, 27, lived one street over, on the 5100 block of Locust Street.

Shot in the chest and thigh about 9:15 p.m., he was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead less than a half-hour later.

Although witnesses reported seeing a fleeing man, no weapon was recovered and no arrests had been made as of this morning.

The motive was also unknown, police said.
