The officer was taken by a medic unit to Albert Einstein Medical Center, said Officer Tanya Little. The injury was not life-threatening. A second officer suffered a broken finger and was taken to Jeanes Hospital in the Northeast.

The suspect, who allegedly stole something from the Target at 7400 Bustleton Avenue at 8:48 p.m., was caught in the 2100 block of Bleigh Avenue after a foot pursuit. The suspect was shocked with a Taser several times and transported in a police wagon to Nazareth Hospital to be treated.
