Multiple victims in North Phila. fire

A family of three was killed early Sunday morning in a dwelling fire at a two-story rowhouse on the 2700 block of West Seltzer Street in the Allegheny West neighborhood of North Philadelphia.

A family of three was killed early Sunday morning in a dwelling fire at a two-story rowhouse on the 2700 block of West Seltzer Street in the Allegheny West neighborhood of North Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Fire Commissioner's Office, which has yet to release the victims' names, says an adult male, adult female and infant female were pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital shortly after 5 a.m.

Engine 45 was dispatched to the scene at 3:13 a.m. and was joined by multiple ladders and medical units from Engines 72 and 59.

Officials say two smoke alarms were found in the house, one without batteries, the other with a dead battery.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
