A UPS truck driver was killed today when his tandem tractor-trailer ran off the road on the New Jersey Turnpike and flipped on its side in Cherry Hill, State Police said.

The rig sideswiped a service truck assisting a stranded car in the southbound lanes of the turnpike at milepost 31.8 before running off the road about 6:30 a.m., police said.

A view of the scene from the CBS3 News helicopter showed the tractor-trailer ended up facing northbound after flipping and spilling some of its cargo.

Since the truck landed off the roadway, traffic was still moving at the crash scene, south of Exit 4.
