Police: Death of Pa. deer hunter is suspicious

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. - Police in Bucks County are investigating the shooting death of a hunter on the first day of deer season.

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. - Police in Bucks County are investigating the shooting death of a hunter on the first day of deer season.

Richland Township Police Sgt. Richard Ficco tells KYW-TV that the man's death on Monday afternoon is suspicious. Ficco could not say if the victim was shot by another hunter.

Investigators say the 52-year-old man from Quakertown killed a deer and called his wife to get their son to help carry the animal. By the time the son arrived, the man had been shot.

The victim was wearing camouflage and his orange hunting vest was next to his body. His shotgun was found 15 feet away, leaning against a tree.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
