Gunfire claims 6 lives over weekend in Phila.

One man was killed and his brother was critically wounded in a shooting late Sunday in Northeast Philadelphia, capping a bloody weekend in the city during which four other men and a teenager died from gunshot wounds, police said.

Officers responding to a report of a person with a gun found a young man shot in the face on the 4800 block of Tackawanna Street in East Frankford at 11:40 p.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:55 p.m., and later identified as Scott Sliwinski, 22.

His brother, Andrew, 26, had been shot in the chest, and was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

Additional details, including their addresses, were not available as of early afternoon.

Over the weekend, gunshot wounds also claimed the lives of:

Jahiyd Johnson, 16, of the 1200 block of West Harold Street, North Philadelphia. He was shot on the 1400 block of North Broad Street on Friday and died on Sunday.

Tawayne Foster, 21, of the 5300 block of Lindbergh Avenue. He died Sunday after he and four others were wounded in a gun battle 12:15 a.m. Saturday on the 6500 block of Chester Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

Emmahd Barrett, 20, of 1400 block of Montrose Street, Southwest Center City. He was killed Saturday on the 1400 block of Federal Street, Point Breeze.

Maurice Smith, 19, 2000 block of Kingston Street. Kensington. He died Sunday after being shot Saturday on the 600 block of E. Lippincott Street in Kensington

Billy Laureano, 27, of 600 E. Westmoreland Street, Kensington. He was fatally wounded Sunday on the 600 block of West Huntingdon Street in Fairhill.
