Man shot and killed in N. Phila.

Police responding to a report of gunfire found a 34-year-old man mortally wounded on a Nicetown street early today.

The victim, who was shot in the chest and head, was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. at Temple University Hospital, police said.

Officers found him at 1:40 a.m. on West Pike Street near Germantown Avenue.

Investigators are seeking a motive and a suspect.
