Charges of sex with minor

A juvenile detention officer was being held in the Camden County Jail on Saturday after being charged with having sexual relations with an under-aged girl, authorities said.

Rahim Whitney, 31, of Clementon, was arrested Wednesday and faces charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said. He was being held on $40,000 cash or bond.

Whitney, a detention officer at the Camden County Youth Detention Center, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a Camden County girl under the age of legal consent at his home within the past month. He has been suspended from his job.
